A 36-year-old man died while kayaking on the Nepean River in Hawkesbury, west of Sydney.
At around 1:20 p.m. Thursday, emergency services were called to the river near Springwood Road in Yarramundi.
Police had received reports of a man “seen in the water and called for help before disappearing”.
Local officials worked with PolAir, NSW’s state emergency services, rural fire department, and fire department to search the NSW rescue service and the NSW ambulance after the man, also with a search and rescue boat.
Police divers visited the crime scene on Thursday around 5 p.m. and found the body of a 36-year-old man shortly after 6 p.m.
