EM – Jesse Hogan excluded from the AFL semifinals

GWS suffered a severe blow ahead of the semi-final against Geelong after star striker Jesse Hogan was out with a calf injury.

Hogan, who was due to play his 100th AFL game on Friday, was added to the team by Former captain Phil Davis replaced.

“He’s a bit tight in the calf,” said GWS coach Leon Cameron of Hogan, who scored six contested marks and scored two goals in the one-point win over Sydney last week.

“We’re disappointed that he won’t play his 100th game. He’s really flat. It’s disappointing for Jesse.”

James Peatling was named as a sub for GWS while Zach Guthrie was named Geelongs Submarine is.

Hogan’s loss is another blow to the Giants after losing Toby Greene (suspension), Tom Green (broken arm) and Sam Reid (upper tendon).
