HOUSTON – Chas McCormick was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to meet Yordan Alvarez, who represented the win when the Astros won 4-3 in 10 innings on Friday night at Minute Maid Park D-Backs went.
The D-Backs had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of 10th place when David Peralta defended Josh Rojas, but Tyler Clippard was unable to make the end of 10th place. The problem for the D-Backs was that one hit was a two-run homer by Jose Altuve in the sixth inning, which gave the Astros a 2-1 lead.
The D-Backs had taken a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning when Kole Calhoun, who had just been activated from the 10-day injury list prior to the game, hit a solo homer to the right.
A Ground ball single by Josh VanMeter on the midfield, which ticked off the glove of a diving Altuve, Christian Walker scored to 2-2 in the eighth game.
