EM – Men seriously injured in a crocodile attack while swimming in crocodile-infested waters


Two men near the Lockhart River in the far north of Queensland, bitten by a crocodile, were flown to Cairns Hospital with serious injuries on a Royal Flying Doctor plane.

One of the men in his twenties is in critical condition with head and upper body injuries while the other man sustained serious wrist and arm injuries in his thirties. The Queensland Ambulance Service says the incident occurred offshore and a doctor and paramedic were out on Friday Flown to the crime scene from Thursday Island just before 5 p.m.

Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council Mayor Wayne Butcher told ABC that the incident occurred in the fishing village of Portland Roads north of Lockhart River.
