The possibility of Dennis Politic moving to Vale Park on a long-term basis may be slightly more likely after the parent club confirmed that there has been no dialogue with the striker since he turned down a contract offer.

Politic becomes resigned from his contract with Wanderers at the end of the season and was offered a new contract before being loaned out to Vale Park for the entire season. However, the forward declined the contract offer.

It means that Politic’s future is the subject of some speculation from the new year onwards. Bolton could call the winger back in January but that seems like an unlikely move unless the striker is ready to leave his future to the Wanderers for the moment. Bolton is more likely to let the striker stay at Burslem for the remainder of the season. That would mean the striker might become a free agent in the summer.

Politic has impressed with a skillful game in a Vale shirt and a permanent move would undoubtedly be of interest to the Valiants, especially if this season turns out to be a success . However, the striker’s wages may prevent Vale from moving permanently, he could still choose to sign with his parent club or he could choose to move elsewhere.

Bolton manager Ian Evatt said the Bolton Evening News: “I don’t think we had another dialogue with Dennis or his agent. As I said, we made him an offer. This offer was politely declined, so we’ll play it by ear for now and see how things develop. “
