Should Mane find the end of the net against AC Milan, he will along with Michael Owen in third place on the European top scorer list with 22 goals – only Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah above them.
Mohamed Salah’s next appearance will be his 100th for Liverpool at Anfield, after scoring 71 in his previous 99 goals Goals.
If the Egyptian scores twice, he will move up to an absolute second place on the all-time list of European goalscorers for the Reds at Anfield – he currently has 13 with Ian Rush at 14 and Gerrard at 24.
This is the 46th season of European football and the 26th in its main club competition.
This is the fifth consecutive European season that Liverpool will face a club from Italy – AS Roma 2017-18, Naples two years in a row and A talanta BC 2020-21.
