Mohamed Salah is Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Month for August.
The number 11 finished first in a fan poll here on Liverpoolfc.com after helping the Reds pick up seven points from their first three games of the 2021-22 season.
Salah was Involved in all three goals as Jürgen Klopp’s side started the season with a 3-0 win over Norwich City, including a fine, frizzy finish from the edge of the box to complete the strike on Carrow Road.
He was also on the scorer list against Chelsea at Anfield Road and shot a penalty in a 1-1 draw past his former club.
Salah chartered Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas in our fan vote on the monthly Standard- Price ousted and his award received before today’s Champions League meeting with AC Milan.
“I think it’s a good start for us, seven points [in August]. We wanted to win nine, but it’s football. We got off to a good start. ”
After scoring up to 99 goals in the Premier League last month, Salah made the century when he beat Leeds United 3-0 last weekend at Elland Road.
There were many spectacular and important performances – but what would the man himself count among his favorites?
“I can’t decide which one, there are a few who are nice,” Salah replied. “Chelsea was good, but I think I was very emotional [about] United at home, in the last minute.
” The away goal was good too, but I think the home goal was my first goal against United and it was special.
“It’s great to score goals to help the team. Scoring 100 Premier League goals as a winger is something I’m happy and proud of. Hopefully I can continue like this. “
