A vaccination blitz for Western Australian children begins this week with 4700 more appointments available before the start of the school year.

From Saturday, January 22 through Sunday, January 30, state clinics will be offering additional appointments for children ages five to 11.

The total number of appointments available for children during this time is increasing over 11,400, with 8,000 children already booked.

“I urge all parents to take advantage of our children’s immunization blitz to protect our children from COVID-19,” said Premier Mark McGowan.

“Yours Getting a child vaccinated now is an important step to protect them when schools return for 2022.”

A dedicated children’s immunization clinic will also open at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Center (PCEC), and in the Kwinana and Ellenbrook clinics are increasingly offering vaccinations for children.

All other state clinics in the metropolitan area and in the regions will continue to offer children’s vaccinations.

Parents can also take their children for an appointment with general practitioners and pharmacies throughout the state book.

People are encouraged to visit rollupforwa.com.au to find the nearest vaccination clinic and visit VaccinateWA to secure their child’s appointment at a government clinic – bookings are essential.

Applications are now open for eligible companies in Perth and Peel that were directly affected by the COVID-19 restrictions from 23rd December 2021 to 4th January 2022.

With the influx of children returning to childcare services in midsummer, it is up to childcare operators to ensure children are adequately protected.
