EM – Tragedy as baby dies after mom tries to avoid the magpie in Brisbane


A girl has died after a mother reportedly tripped with her child in her arms while trying to avoid a whizzing magpie in Brisbane.

Emergency services were on Lawn and Steele streets shortly after 12 noon on Sunday Called at Holland Park West.

Paramedics responded after a mother reportedly tripped while holding a baby after allegedly trying to duck to avoid a magpie, a Queensland ambulance spokesman told 7NEWS.com.au.

“The Queensland Ambulance Service medical director and paramedics in the intensive care unit responded and transported the child in critical condition to the Queensland Children’s Hospital,” the spokesman added.
