KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The return of JuJu Smith-Schuster to the active roster of the Pittsburgh Steelers has resulted in wide receiver Cody White being named one of the team’s five inactive players Sunday night.

Other players who are ineligible for wildcard play against the Kansas City Chiefs include defensive tackle Carlos Davis, running back Anthony McFarland Jr., inside linebacker Tegray Scales, and No. 3 quarterback Dwayne Haskins.

Smith-Schuster was called up from injured reserve on Saturday and will be playing for the first time in a game since injuring his right shoulder in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. That resulted in more playing time for fourth wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, but it also opened up opportunities for White, who played in each of the last 15 games of the regular season.

White finished the season with five catches on six goals for 33 yards and three first downs. He also played 24% of the Steelers’ special team snaps.

McFarland failed to secure a spot on the matchday list, even though starter Najee Harris was listed on injury reports during the week with an elbow injury. Harris was ruled questionable on Friday, but the Steelers upgraded him on Saturday.

Davis played three games late in the season but is inactive for the second straight week.

The Chiefs scratched cornerback Rashad Fenton, who started eight games in the regular season, with a back injury. The Chiefs’ inactive players were quarterback Shane Buechele, wide receiver Josh Gordon, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, running back Darwin Thompson, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh, and tackle Prince Tega Wanogho.

Edwards-Helaire, who started running back for the Chiefs, missed his third straight game with a shoulder injury. His replacement will be Darrell Williams, who was restricted from training this week with a toe injury.
