It remains to be seen when – if at all – Deshaun Watson will be back in the NFL. But if he does, now we have an idea where he’d like to take his next snaps.
Safety Kareem Jackson, who was with the Texans in 2017 and ’18 Watson’s teammate and now plays for the Broncos, went to Aqib Talibs Podcast « Catchin ‘Fades » and revealed some new information about where the quarterback would like to play.
« I have a great relationship with Deshaun, » said Jackson. « I’ve been talking to him for the past few weeks, man, and all he’s told me is, ‘Jack, just tell them I want to be there.’ … He says, ‘I want to be in Denver.’ «
Of course, there are countless obstacles in the way of the two players reunion. Watson is currently the subject of more than 20 legal proceedings in which the quarterback alleged sexual assault and misconduct He has denied all allegations, but it could take months, if not longer, to resolve the situation.
Additionally, Watson is still under contract with the Texans after signing a four-year extension in 2020. Houston has claimed to have no interest in trading with Watson.
The Broncos seem like a quarterback far from being a contender, and Watson would certainly fit in. Your current signal callers, Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater, are reportedly struggling with their OTAs.
