The ratio of people who have had blood clots after receiving the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is roughly the same as that of those who received the AstraZeneca vaccine, according to a new study.
Researchers at Oxford University found that the number of people who received blood clots after vaccination was roughly the same for all three vaccines. Four in a million people will have cerebral vein thrombosis (CVT) after receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, compared to five in a million for the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The new study was conducted after vaccine use of AstraZeneca has been discontinued or restricted in several countries due to blood clot concerns recently reported in vaccinated patients.
