The 14th season of the Indian Premier League continues amid the growing outbreak of the Coronavirus, but other tournaments seem to have an impact on this deadly virus. Recently, the Mumbai Cricket Association had obtained permission from the BCCI to organize the Mumbai T20 League. Accordingly, the Mumbai T20 League was to start soon after the IPL-2021 was over. But now the Mumbai Cricket Association has decided to postpone these T20 leagues in view of the ever increasing cases of corona virus. Along with other players, it will also have an impact on the legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar as Arjun was also a part of the league in the last season of the league in 2019. Arjun is currently a part of the Mumbai Indians team in the IPL.
The Mumbai Cricket Association issued a statement informing the suspension of the T20 League. In this regard, the chairman of the league Milind Narvekar said, at a time when medical supplies are extremely strapped and people are losing their lives, we cannot organize a cricket match. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the Mumbai T20 League on the basis of humanitarianism. The tournament will not be held until the conditions are normal. At present, people’s life is more important than anything else. As far as Arjun Tendulkar’s performance in the Mumbai T20 League is concerned, he has participated in a total of 6 matches in the 2019 season of this league. During this time, Arjun has scored 104 runs with an average of 17.33 and a strike rate of 123.81. These include 8 fours, 5 sixes and 1 catch. His highest score has been 28 runs. This season, he also took 5 wickets in 6 matches, with the best performance being three wickets for 27 runs.
After the statement of Mumbai T20 League chairman Milind Narvekar, Mumbai Cricket Association Governing Council member Suraj Samat also expressed his opinion on the issue of postponement of the league. He said that apart from the epidemic, the authority is facing many challenges in organizing the tournament. According to this, the monsoon is going to start in June. In such a situation, it is not appropriate to organize the match because most of the matches will be affected by the rain. That is why we have decided not to take any risk by organizing the tournament at the moment.
After leaving the ODIs and Tests, now this veteran made a big announcement on his retirement from T20 cricket, special relationship with Hyderabad
