On the night of January 13-14, the Balkan cyclone brought a blizzard to Tula, wind with gusts up to 17 m / s and a drop in temperature. By the morning of January 14 in the regional capital, the height of the snow cover reached 30 cm, contrary to the predicted 26 cm. Such data are reported by the Tula branch of the Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.
It is reported that 9.3 mm of precipitation fell in the city that night, which is 22.5% of the monthly norm. According to the forecast, snow will continue to fall in places until January 15.
On the eve, the Main Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Tula Region warned the residents of the region to observe precautions. The specialists switched to an enhanced mode of operation.
Due to unfavorable weather conditions in Tula on the morning of January 14, traffic jams reached 4 points. The road situation proved to be difficult despite the high alert in public utilities. For cleaning the roads of Tula, 100 units of equipment were allocated, later another 70 vehicles left for the streets of the city.
