Mumbai, April 20: In view of the increasing prevalence of corona in the state, a decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting to cancel the Maharashtra SSC exam for Class X board. This information has been given by the Minister Rajesh Tope and this detailed information will be announced soon, said Rajesh Tope. Rajesh Tope has informed that the 12th board exam (HSC board exam) will be held.

There was a discussion in the cabinet regarding the 10th board exams. Rajesh Tope has informed that a unanimous decision has been taken in the cabinet to cancel the examination this year and promote the students. In this regard, the school education minister Varsha Gaikwad said, « It has been decided to cancel the 10th board exams and there will be an internal assessment of the students. The 12th standard examination is likely to be held by the end of May.

As the 10th standard schools were conducted online this year, the Cabinet has decided to cancel the 10th standard examinations in Maharashtra like other states in the country due to the prevalence of corona. However, Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that if any assessment is to be taken in this regard, a decision will be taken in this regard.

A few days back, School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad held a press conference and gave important information regarding 10th and 12th examinations. This year, 10th and 12th exams will be conducted offline and it was decided to give extra time for written exams. However, in view of the increasing prevalence of corona, the decision to cancel the exam has now been taken at the cabinet meeting.

Despite strict restrictions in Maharashtra, the number of corona sufferers is on the rise. That is why now there is a consensus in the cabinet that a complete lockdown should be imposed in the state. Soon, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will make an announcement in this regard. The government will announce detailed rules on what the rules will be in the lockdown and what services will be closed and what will be on.
