Ebene Magazine – Old $ 5 bills could be worth up to $ 1,750

A money expert has released details on how to tell if that old $ 5 bill is worth a small fortune.

Trading instructor and TikTok user Joel Kandiah posted a video on the social platform showing viewers tips on how to determine if the rare Australian banknote is valuable.

The video has received more than 17,000 likes in one day since it was uploaded to TikTok.

« You could have told me that before I used it in the canteen, » wrote one person.

According to the money expert, the rare note was valuable as it was the last edition of the old style before the new version was released.

When a user asked where to sell the note, the TikTok star responded to eBay or went to a dealer.

The online banknote and coin specialist website, The Right Note, sells banknotes between $ 1,500 and $ 15,000.
