City head coach Daniel Farke has signed off for the attacking midfielder in the January window after his star was linked to a £ 40million exit to the Gunners.
However, Barcelona-based daily sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo suggests the summer transfer window is a better one Option for Mikel Arteta’s club could be to take a firm step.
Mesut Ozil is ready to complete a move to Fenerbahce but the Gunners have reportedly conducted a second investigation into Real Madrid attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian international is on loan for the rest of this season.

Farke reiterated the Canary Islands’ position in terms of their valuable capital ahead of the 2-0 midweek win over Bristol City, in which they were seven points ahead.
Buendia, who is under contract with Carrow Road until at least 2024, has scored seven goals and provided seven assists to underline his reputation as one of the outstanding players in the English second division.
The City boss now expects however, Buendia acknowledged the big boys’ summer interest would be harder to resist.
« Nothing will happen this month, » he said. « In this business you can never back up anything with a 100% guarantee, but I would call it 99%. Let’s face it, it doesn’t make sense for any of my players, not just Emi, to leave right now. It does also none. » For us as a club, it makes sense to sell everyone at this stage.
« For the best players in the world or the players with the best potential, it’s always summer when these transfers take place. Not in January. In This month clubs in trouble sometimes have to spend money to make a difference or there is an emergency. » due to injury.
« If you want to call Emi, Max Aarons or Todd Cantwell some of our best talent, you can. I would prefer to call them some of the best players with potential. But the market it’s summer for these guys.
« They have the potential to play for the biggest clubs one day. When you talk about Arsenal, one of the best clubs in this country and in Europe too. They have the potential to play for this club one day but it doesn’t make sense. « In January.
» We’re in a fantastic situation. In less than four months, there’s a good chance they’ll be playing a key role in a club at the highest level and in the spotlight. In a club in the Premier League where the coach trusts you and the fans love you. It’s a fantastic position to be in.
« Then when a club is bigger than us, the best in this country or Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and they say it should be our long-term If the solution is, then, to be honest, a deal is always possible. Maybe even likely. » .
« Then we might have to say that the player has outgrown the club. But not in January. For us as a club that doesn’t make sense. »
