« American Idol » just revealed its last 12 – but Wyatt Pike didn’t wait to give viewers the chance to vote him out.
The self-proclaimed 20-year-old « kid » from Park City, Utah, became Missed in the venerable reality TV singing competition on Monday evening in the first live episode of the season.
Presenter Ryan Seacrest announced without fanfare that Pike had ended the talent show with a brief explanation on stage.
» Before we get into the results, I have to tell you that finalist Wyatt Pike will not be competing, « said Seacrest, 46. » He had to get out – but we wish him all the best. «
Pike left the show for this old showbiz standby – « personal reasons » – a representative from « American Idol » who was confirmed to The Post.

After this spirited performance, Judge Lionel Richie, 71, said Pike had « a style we love to see » and predicted he was on his way to « something big ». In the meantime, Katy Perry went so far as to announce that the young singer « had a little nook in this competition [because] you are an authentic singer and writer. »
