Josh Gad gathered his co-stars from The Goonies for a sweet zoom reunion and it’s taking us way back.
The Frozen actor took to his social media to announce the live reunion yesterday which got fans excited for the rare event.
Seeing them all as adults rather than children in 1985 was wild but it’s what need during these times.
The cast include Sean Astin who recited the classic Troy’s Bucket monologue, Josh Brolin (Brand), Kerri Green (Andy), Corey Feldman (Mouth), Ke Huy Quan (Data), Martha Plimpton (Stef) and Jeff Cohen (Chunk).
The call was set up as a fundraiser, too, with all proceeds going to The Center for Disaster Philanthropy.
Steven Spielberg, who wrote the story, was asked by Josh G whether they’d ever make another Goonies movie, and it’s not looking too good for us hopefuls.
‘We had a lot of conversation about it,’ the director said. ‘Every couple of years we come up with an idea and it never holds water.
‘The problem is the bar you all hold in this genre. I don’t think we’re able to come up with an idea that’s better than The Goonies we did in the 80s.
We might not be getting a new movie, but at least we got a reunion.
The cast reminisced on lines they remember from 35 years ago and talked about how they’re all doing now.
Jeff, who played Chunk, revealed (while sitting on a Tony Montana throne) he is no longer acting and became an entertainment lawyer.
Josh B responded to Jeff – who was wearing a very suave red blazer – and laughed: ‘The one person who’s no longer an actor looks most like an actor.’
