Kokila Vrat 2021: Know when will Kokila Vrat start, this is the auspicious time hi

Nightingale Vrat is observed on the full moon day of Ashadh month. This fast is more prevalent in South India. The women who observe this fast, wake up before sunrise and use perfumed perfume after taking a bath. This rule lasts for eight days. There is a law to worship Lord Sun God in the morning. This year this fast is on 23rd July.

Nightingale Vrat is dedicated to Goddess Sati and Lord Shiva. The name Kokil is known as the Indian bird cuckoo and is associated with Goddess Sati. It can be understood through a story.

Once Prajapati Daksha performed a huge yagya. All the gods were invited to this yagya, but they did not invite their son-in-law, Lord Shiva.

When Sati came to know about this, she expressed her desire to see her husband Lord Shankar. Shankar ji refused to go there without invitation but stubbornly Sati went to her maternal home. On reaching her maternal home, Sati was severely insulted and humiliated.

Because of this Sati jumped into Prajapati’s Yagya Kund and was consumed. When Lord Shankar got the news of Sati being consumed, he was filled with anger. Lord Shiva ordered Veerabhadra to kill Prajapati Daksha. Lord Vishnu tried to pacify this rebellion.

Lord Ashutosh’s anger subsided but disobeying the order cursed his wife Sati to roam in the form of Nightingale for ten thousand years. Sati lived in Nandan forest in the form of Nightingale for ten thousand years.
