The compulsion of child labor of children has always been there in the tribal-dominated Dhar district. Especially if the parents do not get employment at the local level, then they migrate to Gujarat or Rajasthan. Children go along and they also work as labourers. The school has been closed at the secondary level for almost a year due to the corona virus infection. At the same time, higher secondary school has also not been able to study for many months. The study of the anti-child labor campaign has revealed that the number of children doing domestic work and local work has increased by about 5%.

Every year on 12 June International Day for the Prohibition of Child Labor is observed. Even today the problem of child labor remains in our place. According to the information received from the District Education Center, there are 3 thousand 306 such children in the district. His family members have migrated and gone out. In such a situation, children who are more than 10 years old, those children have been forced to work with their parents in Gujarat, Rajasthan.

Children have not had the opportunity to study in school for a long time. In this regard, Rajiv Bhargava, the state coordinator of the anti-child labor campaign, said that according to the 2011 census, about seven lakh children were engaged in child labor in Madhya Pradesh. He said that due to the closure of schools, children have to do farming or domestic work. Due to lack of employment with the parents, they started doing the work of selling fruits, vegetables etc. Apart from this, children are also engaged in farming work. In this way, if we look at the situation of child labor in Dhar district alone, our study shows an increase of about 5%. He told that we have got the study done in about 25 districts of Madhya Pradesh. There has also been an increase in child labor on average. Adolescent children are engaged in various activities.

Bhushan Deshpande, assistant project coordinator of the District Education Center, said that due to the closure of the school, there are about 20% such children who have started working with their parents. The closure of the school has affected him. He said that due to corona virus infection, the school can be operated only according to the guidelines of the government. We have received instructions that in the interest of the children, the process of their enrollment should be expedited. During this we will identify such children who are engaged in child labor. Efforts will be made to bring them from the mainstream.
